Rebecca Cochran is a Tennessee Valley native. She attended Auburn University, where she received a BA in English literature, then completed a medical degree at Johns Hopkins University. Her pediatric internship was accomplished at the University of North Carolina and pediatric residency at the University of Virginia. She has practiced pediatrics in Huntsville since 1993. Her husband, Tommy, is from Sylacauga, Alabama. They have three boys, who teach her more about pediatrics every day.
Kevin Ellis was born and raised close by in Albertville, AL. After graduating from Albertville High School, he attended the University of Alabama where he earned a B.S. in Biology. Upon graduation, Dr. Ellis attended medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and trained at The Children's Hospital of Alabama. Dr. Ellis served as Chief Resident for the pediatric program at UAB where he taught medical students and pediatric residents, he was also responsible for several administrative duties. Dr. Ellis and his wife, Leslie moved to Huntsville in Spring 2005. He has a daughter and son.
Mike Klemm grew up in a small town in northern Arkansas. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, arriving here in Huntsville in August of 1993. His initial pediatric training was at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati and at Arkansas Children's Hospital. He married Robbie Dudley, a native of Huntsville. They have 2 boys, Chandler and Riley. Other than his 2 sons, he is active in scouting, sports, and church. When he can, he loves to work in his yard.
Katie Gunter was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. After graduating from Suncoast Community High School, she attended Yale University in New Haven, CT where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. Upon graduation, Dr. Gunter attended medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, FL and then moved to Birmingham to complete her training at The Children's Hospital of Alabama. During her residency training she was awarded the Argus Society Award for Best Resident, an award honoring teaching excellence. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and traveling. She is married and has two boys.
Bryan Laue is board certified in general pediatrics. He is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. In 1997 Dr. Laue returned home to join Huntsville Pediatric Associates. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Following medical school, Dr. Laue completed an internship in Savannah, Georgia. He then completed his pediatric training in Greenville, South Carolina. During residency, Dr. Laue was selected as chief resident, received the Miracle Maker award for outstanding patient care, and chosen as the Outstanding Teaching Resident. He is married and has two children. In his spare time, Dr. Laue enjoys fishing, spending time with family, biking and water skiing.
Brian Patz grew up in Huntsville where he graduated from Huntsville High. From there he attended Birmingham-Southern College. Upon graduation he began his medical training at the Medical School in Mobile at University of South Alabama, then residency at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is married with three girls and twin boys.
Sarah Todd grew up in Huntsville, graduating from Covenant Christian Academy. Dr. Todd received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 2006. She then received her MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2010. She completed her residency at the University of Tennessee Health Service Center in Memphis, training at both Le Bonheur hospital and St. Jude. Dr. Todd is married to Lee Todd of Albertville, who works with a local startup.
Christen Roth is a Huntsville native and attended Lee High School where she and her now-husband met in the Pre-Engineering Magnet Program. Upon graduation, she attended Auburn University where she earned a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. She then matriculated into medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her third and fourth years of medical school here at the UAB Huntsville branch campus at which time she decided she ultimately wanted to return to Huntsville to practice Pediatrics. She moved back to Birmingham to complete her residency training at The Children's Hospital of Alabama. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading. While she decided back in high school that physics and engineering weren't for her, her husband Jake stayed the course and is a Civil Engineer. They have a daughter and son.
Angela King was born and raised in Huntsville, AL. After graduating from Grissom High School, she attended Samford University in Birmingham where she earned a B.S. in Biology. Dr. King attended medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, and then relocated to Birmingham to complete her internship and residency training at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama. After completing her residency, Dr. King worked for the UAB Department of General Pediatrics, where she served as both a newborn nursery hospitalist at the UAB Women and Infants Center and a general pediatrician in the Primary Care Clinic. Dr. King and her husband Zach, also a Huntsville native, are excited to be returning to the Huntsville area. They have two daughters. In her free time, Dr. King enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities, spending time with her family, and being involved at her local church.
